Who is The Bright Rider?
What's up Riders! On this page, I'm going to give you a little background on who I am and why I started making videos.
SO, who am I?
I am Thomas, born February 28th 1996, in Antwerp, Belgium. After high school, I went to college and got myself a bachelor's degree in psychology. After that I started working in a psychiatry for teenagers with all kinds of though life-situations and in some cases also severe disorders. Then I switched to working with adults who are admitted against their will. After a year I wanted to educate myself more, so now I'm in college to get a 2nd bachelors's degree.. I want my life to be exciting!
A Youtube channel... How did it start?
Being between jobs and the pandemic hitting I had all this free time, and I am not one to sit around. So, I started taking online lessons in photography and started making Youtube videos. Though this didn't just start out of the blue. I had been watching Youtube videos for 10 years before starting this channel. I watched a variety of content differentiating from skits to gaming videos, instructional videos, vlogs and much more. Before this channel, I enjoyed making videos on a different channel that I used to upload edits that I made about random stuff that I did like daytrips, vacations, etc. just because I love filming and editing videos. But this was never with the intention of growing that channel, I just used the platform so that I could show my videos to family and friends. That being said, my big dream in life was always to combine my passions and making that a big part of my life. Besides riding motorcycles, I also love photography, cinematography and editing. So how do I combine all of these things? Youtube!
Why Vlogs?
I have been watching many people vlog for years and I enjoy that type of content the most on Youtube. Once I discovered this genre of filmmaking I stopped watching normal TV like everyone else. Living alone, I never even bought the setup needed to watch mainstream TV. I just like watching people's journeys through vlogs, seeing them change and develop in their own way. I enjoy that more than I have enjoyed any TV-show ever.
Why did I start The Bright Rider?
The Bright Rider is a combination of all the things I love. I love to ride a motorcycle, to spend time with my family, film, take photos and edit. I also love the idea of sharing my life (to a certain degree) on Youtube, because it creates community which is a very positive thing to me.
(Cliché Alert!) I want to live a life filled with awesome memories and I hope this Youtube journey will be one of those memories, who knows, maybe it will become a huge part of my life, which I would LOVE.
