1 YEAR on Youtube

12-03-2021

It's been a year (and 2 days) since I uploaded my first video. First some statistics: at this very moment I have 3 250 subscribers and 430 000 views on the channel. My most popular video has 70K views. My last upload did very good, it's got 9000 views after 5 days.

SO, what does maintaining a Youtube channel mean? A big part of it is planning: the first 5 months went very fast in terms of subscribers because I uploaded 2 times a week back then. I've been thinking about uploading twice a week again, maybe just one commuting video every Wednesday, but haven't come around to do it yet. I've been really busy with my main job at the hospital and producing videos takes a lot of time. I work 5 days a week in shifts and one day I keep free for filming, editing and uploading a video, that just leaves one full day a week to spend time with loved ones. Maybe I'll try it out for one month or so :)

What has been the most memorable about Youtube the last year? Well, the thing that always comes to mind is the fact that the channel actually took off. Starting a Youtube channel is very weird, you don't know what's going to happen when you upload that first video, that's why so many people don't even start. My advice: JUST DO IT! Why not? And don't expect to blow up right away like for example Itchy Boots did, that is very exceptional. Just do it because you like doing it, not for any other reason :)
